Charles Isbell has been a broadcaster –full and part-time– for more than 50 years. He still works five hours a day at KTMO in Kennett, MO. He gathers and reports a local newscast at 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. and records a newscast to be played back noon. Computers and automated systems have replaced most of the announcers that figured so prominently in KBOA’s early days. Charlie says he “misses turntables.”
